Wednesday Evening BBQ and Wild West Show
Wednesday evening, we will be putting on a very special evening of entertainment to kick off your Pendleton experience. The Fox Hunt, a Bluegrass Band from West Virginia, is touring the northwest this summer, and plan to be in Pendleton during our convention. They are going to play for our entertainment during the terrific catered BBQ on Wednesday at 6:30pm, August 13, as a kick off event for the 9th USAWest Square Dance Convention in the Pendleton Convention Center. The menu will include some Northwest Favorites. After the BBQ, sit back and relax as you watch a Wild West Show that has been enjoyed over the past 10 years by visitors to Pendleton as well as Columbia River cruise passengers from around the world. The Wild West Show traces about 100 years of Pendleton history from Pioneers on the Oregon Trail in the early 1800's, to the sheep and wool industry of the mid 1800's to the cattle industry at the turn of the century. The story is told with cowboys, cowgirls, comedy, music, horses, dogs and sheep. The show has been enjoyed over the past 10 years by visitors to Pendleton as well as Columbia River cruise passengers from around the world. We are opening the evening with an authentic Western BBQ, served at 6:30 pm in the Happy Canyon Arena. You can enjoy these events on August 13, 2008 as a kick off for the 9th USA West Square Dance Convention at the Pendleton Convention Center. |
