SINGLE SQUARE DANCERS USA

Single Square Dancers USA and the Dance-A-Rama are a long standing but well kept secret. Single Square Dancers USA ("SSDUSA") was the brain child of Joe B. Ellis of Oklahoma City, OK in 1970. They are incorporated in the State of Oklahoma and the logo is trademarked. The purpose of Single Square Dancers USA is to promote square dancing particularly among singles.

An annual event called Dance-A-Rama is primarily for, and hosted by, singles but they invite and encourage all dancers to attend. In 2008, the 38th Dance-A-Rama will be held in Nashville, Tennessee on August 28-31. For information on Dance-A-Rama, see www.ssdusa.org.

Single Square Dancers USA is a founding board member of the Alliance of Round Traditional and Square Dancers (ARTS). They work with other clubs and festivals and the National Executive Committee in providing activities primarily for solo dancers.

During the 2008 USA West Square Dance Convention in Pendleton, Oregon, the Thursday evening after party with the Ghost Riders is being sponsored by the Single Square Dancers USA. Other singles activities are also being planned for the convention. Click here to download a set of invitations to this afterparty that you can print and distribute yourself.
